Focus Media Group Awarded Ten-Year Contract to Provide Transit Benches to the City of Garden Grove GARDEN GROVE, CA, November 29, 2017 Focus Media Group is proud to announce it was awarded a 10-year contract to provide new, all-metal benches and bus stop maintenance services to the City of Garden Grove. The contract was unanimously approved by City Council on Tuesday, November 28, 2017.... Garden Grove is the 5th largest city in Orange County and the 25th largest city in California (2010 U.S. Census). It boasts 291 OCTA bus stops serving the community, where Focus Media Group will install new, modern transit benches at key bus stops throughout the City. The contract calls for Focus Media Group to professionally maintain the transit benches and the surrounding area with regular visits, periodic pressure-cleaning, repair, and graffiti removal, as well monetize the benches by selling advertising space. Providing clean, well-maintained bus stops and bus stops amenities is a key service for our residents, said John R. O’Neill, City Councilmember. Focus Media's track record of customer service with other cities they work with in Southern California was key for me. I also liked the fact that the contract provides for a revenue stream to the City from advertising, all the while allowing our public works department to focus on other, more crucial tasks like road and infrastructure maintenance and improvement. As a City, we are always looking for ways to provide better services while maximizing our resources, stated Steve Jones, Mayor of City of Garden Grove. I would like to thank our staff for working on this partnership for the last 8 to 9 months. I would also like to acknowledge my colleague, Councilmember John O’Neill, for introducing me to Focus Media Group and championing this great opportunity to not only clean up our bus benches but also create a new source of revenue for the city. We were able to intervene and the issue was resolved 48 hours later. ... A helping hand for homeless Focus Media Group has partnered with several cities in Orange County to deliver exceptional bus stop amenity solutions for over 15 years. As homelessness has grown in recent years, Focus Media Group found that we could be an active, positive contributor to assisting homeless persons that might be seeking a place to rest in a transit shelter or on a transit bench. When a homeless person is encountered, our maintenance crews are trained to offer assistance: information on local facilities, transportation to a facility or simply a hot meal. Our crews carry postcards with the names and phone numbers of several local facilities and organizations that can help homeless persons. All Homeless Assistance encounters are documented through Focus Media Group's new mobile maintenance app and the data is shared with partner cities. Good for the environment and good for business Stanton rolls out solar transit shelter illumination 100% Renewable Energy... Focus Media Group has been City of Stanton's street furniture partner since 2008. In an effort to provide a more sustainable service for the mass transit users in the city and to do our part to protect the environment, Focus Media Group worked with the City of Stanton to begin replacing conventional illumination in the 18 transit shelters with 100% solar-powered illumination.
