We are very excited to announce the newest member of the #FocalPointFamily. Dr. Chris Hsieh has joined us as a full time associate in the practice: Dr. Hsieh (shay) grew up in Orange County, CA and earned his undergraduate degree from UC Irvine with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. Immediately following his time at UC Irvine, he attended the prestigious UC Berkeley School of Optometry, where he earned his Doctor of Optometry degree. In addition to working at t...he eye clinic at UC Berkeley, Dr. Hsieh completed clinical externships at the Omni Eye Center in New Jersey and New York, Kaiser Permanente in Daly City, as well as at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. Dr. Hsieh is licensed to practice the highest level of optometry, which includes the use of diagnostic and therapeutic pharmaceutical agents, performing lacrimal dilation and irrigation, and treatment of glaucoma. Dr. Hsieh is passionate about low vision and has extensive experience in prescribing visual aids for patients with vision loss due to age-related macular degeneration, ocular-albinism, diabetic retinopathy, and many other forms of maculopathies. In his free time, Dr. Hsieh enjoys working on cars, riding his motorcycle, going on hikes, and watching ice hockey.
