To help make dreams become reality like Carla's, donate to FNDC's Big Day of Giving page on Thursday, May 6, 2021! Here's the link: https://www.bigdayofgiving.org/FNDC Carla and her husband had been interested in launching a business focused on Mexican cuisine. They wanted to bring the authentic flavors of Guadalajara, Jalisco to Sacramento from foods like tortas ahogadas, pozole, and tejuinos. In March 2019, when the pandemic hit, Carla's primary business of Event and Cateri...ng unfortunately saw a dramatic decline in business. This in turn provided them the opportunity to focus on this new business venture. As a past participant of the Micro-enterprise Program, Carla was able to apply to Midtown Association's Sacramento Food Festival Program Grant and successfully won. With the help of the program, La Minerva has been provided additional technical assistance and funding to become a formalized business and selling at the Midtown Farmer's Market for the community to further enjoy her food. Support La Minerva at their first Farmer's Market this Wednesday, April 14th at Wednesdays at Winn (28th and P streets) between 3:00pm - 7:30pm OR at the Midtown Farmer's Market on Saturday, April 17th from 8:00am - 1:00pm!
