Pictured below are the two different types of tripods that were used with the M5 Gun Director, the Tripod M7, and the Tripod M21. If anybody has any leads on either one of these, please get in contact with the Museum.

On Saturday October 19th, the Fort MacArthur Museum was invited to attend the Los Angeles Air Force bases Centennial Celebration at the former Middle Reservatio...n of Fort MacArthur. The Museum took a total of 9 vehicles in two separate trips from the Museum to the Air Force base on Pacific Ave. The first trip consisted of our 1941 GMC CCKW 352 pulling an M1 searchlight trailer with Sperry 1941 light inside, 1943 GMC CCKW 352 pulling a 1942 Sperry Searchlight Generator, 1943 GMC CCKW 353 pulling our 1944 Bofors 40mm Anti Aircraft Gun, 1941 Dodge 1/2 ton Ambulance, 1943 Dodge 3/4 ton Command Car, and our 1945 Ford GPW. That's a total of 54 tires rolling in our convoy! Our second convoy of vehicles was much smaller but it consisted of our 1918 Dodge Brothers Light Repair Truck, 1918 FWD Model B, 1944 White M16A2 Halftrack and our 1943 Dodge 3/4 ton Command Car again which we used to shuttle our drivers back up to the Museum. Below is a link to an article talking about the event on October 19th written by the Space and Missile Systems Public Affairs of the Los Angeles Air Force Base. https://www.losangeles.af.mil//los-angeles-air-force-base/
