Bees are enjoying some almond pollen! Around this time of the year, our bees head to Northern California to help pollinate almond trees!

Come and join us this Saturday morning at the Pomona’s farmers market from 9am to 1pm and in the evening we will be at the #uplandartwalk at the @vaultofupland. We will be there from 4 pm to 9pm.

Sometimes the queen is on the hive cover! When we do inspections we usually expect the Queen to be close to the brood usually the middle 3 frames. But we like to keep an eye on the cover when we first open the hive because once in a while we find her here. Can you spot the queen?

Pollen stores! Also called bee breed. Not only do bees store honey, they also store pollen inside there honey comb. Bees usually keep it close to the brood nest, and use it to feed the young larvae (baby bees) it’s full of protein and other vitamins they need.
