It is so fun to find out "there's an essential oil for that!!!" Most recently I had a couple swollen taste buds on my tongue so painful it was hard to talk and impossible to eat. I tried Benzocain (which burned and numbed for 30 minutes), then my oil mentor told me to try Thieves Oil. Immediately it numbed AND took down the swelling which relieved the pain and not just for 30 minutes. 12 hours after applying Theives Oil, my owie was just a memory. WOW -- this powerful stuff.

Linda and I just got back from the Western Buying Conference in Las Vegas. We saw so many new, exciting things. Can’t wait to show you--new makeup, new hair accessories, new orderless tanning creams and sprays and much more.

How do we manage our hair in El Nino? Ahhhhhhhhhh!! First of all, after washing your hair, it is imperative that you use a product to eliminate frizz. Which product depends on the texture of your hair (is it course, medium or fine) and whether or not you are going to wear it in curls/waves or you are going to blow it dry. Your hair may also frizz because it is damaged. Regardless of any of this, if you are going for a smooth blowout, finish your work with a humidity-resista...nt hairspray. Hairsprays are so wonderful these days; they can give you super high hold without your hair feeling stiff. So unless you are really loving helmet head, stay away from the old hard hairsprays like BedHead Hard Head, Chi Helmet Head and cheap hairsprays (AquaNet, etc.) I know the newer hairsprays that are so touchable are more expensive, but they are really worth it. They give your hair style memory so your hair just knows what it is supposed to do even on day 2. Your mate will touch your hair and never know that you have hairspray in it. My favorites are Alterna, Moroccan Oil, Redken, Lanza and Kenra. For curly hair, Moroccan Oil has a new smoothing line, and their Smoothing Lotion gets our number 1 vote for best product for a blowout and frizz-free hair. Redken Frizz Dismiss has 3 products (fine, medium, course) to eliminate frizz before blow-drying; all are good but their Rebel Tame works a miracle on course hair. Pureology’s new Smooth Perfection Smoothing Lotion is wonderful on fine curly hair. If your hair is not curly/wavy but you still experience some frizz, use a leave-in conditioner. Previously, my favorite was Uniq One by Revlon, but Redken has a new one named One United that is my new best friendit is unbelievable. I spray it on my hair and then use a little Purology Anti-Split Blowdry for a perfect blowout. Followup with Alterna hairspray and I’m good for 3 days. Damaged hair will benefit immensely from Wella’s Lux Oil Keratin Restore line, and for it’s high quality, you will find it quite affordable. If you just can’t face THREE el nino month’s of using products to fight the frizz, you can always get a keratin smoothing treatment on your hair. Then you can just wash your hair and go, no blow dry or anti-frizz products necessary. The treatment is a little pricy, but when you figure in the time you spend and the cost of the products you use to fight the frizz, cost wise it is probably comparable. And if you are a real do-it-yourselfer, there is a home smoothing treatment system named Zelo; it just requires a high-heat flat iron.

Don’t forget to get your hair done so you look terrific in those Christmas photos! And while your hair is processing, you can shop for all those last minute gifts.
