So, the question is: how do we manage this stress and avoid being overwhelmed? Eat well. Nutrition is important for overall health and stress levels, we can't fight both internal and external stress. Don't make your body work harder by polluting it.... Exercise. Taking a walk or coming in for personal training can help deal with the stress in your body. 26 33 100 What do those numbers have in common? They make up your feet! You have 26 bones, 33 joints, and over 100 ligaments, muscles and tendons in your feet. It's no wonder that your feet impact your entire body! It makes sense that they would directly affect your legs and your back but your feet can also affect your organ health, which can be the source of joint pain or cause imbalance. Here some basic things you can be doing to take care of your feet:... - Spend time barefoot! This can be at the beach, on the grass, or at your home. Our feet are built to move and constant shoe-wearing keeps them getting the same constant inputs. Going barefoot forces motion and challenges the muscles in the foot. - Use a therapy ball or golf ball to release tension in the foot. Work from your heel to the big toe, big toe to pinky toe, and pinky toe to heel. Also through the center of the foot. This helps increase blood flow and improve mobility in the foot and ankle. -Flat arches? Try jogging on the infield of a track or grassy area. 3x a week to build strength in the foot. Our arches help us absorb and redistribute impact.
