One month of wedded bliss for Jinting + Zach!! Their wedding planning journey took us from Temecula to Malibu as California wineries shut down their indoor operations due to COVID so we switched directions from May 30, 2020 to August 28, 2020 where they ended up getting married oceanfront at a gorgeous Malibu estate. Although they didn’t get that big vineyard wedding, they got their happily ever after with their closest friends and family. And now they have my friendship fore...ver too - those three extra months of planning and getting to know my amazing couples on a deeper level is what really kept me going during this incredibly challenging year. Quarantined for life It’s hard to believe it has only been a few weeks since our 2020 wedding season kicked off. I’m incredibly grateful to couples like Tara + Adam who despite having their original wedding venue cancel on them due to COVID, they still rallied and brought me on board to help plan a very special wedding celebration at an alternative location (which happened to be in my hometown of Redondo Beach/Torrance, CA!) Choosing a back-up plan isn’t always ideal, but... in the end making the best of the situation is what matters most. I’ve been finding it hard to see anything positive in the world these days. I’ve been sad reflecting on the weddings that I would have coordinated for clients over the last few weeks and selfishly I still just can’t believe my business is on hiatus until further notice. More importantly, I find it even harder to post right now knowing there are still people out there that treat others differently because of the color of their skin. It’s baffling and there are no words I can e...xpress to ever fully understand how fundamentally unfair that is. I‘m thankful I grew up in a very diverse community in LA and was raised to treat others the way YOU want to be treated. It’s shocking we’re in an era that still sees such hatred when there is so much beauty in uniting. I’m now focusing on looking back on all the love I’ve been a part of, including the last wedding I coordinated before coronavirus. I was honored to be a part of Allison + Rob’s wedding on 12/1/19 and I can’t wait to get back to the fun of helping two people in love celebrate their union with friends and family.
