First Friday Fusion

Hey everyone! Hope you're getting excited for next Friday’s event! Here's our instructor and DJ lineup for our 3rd First Friday Fusion of 2020! 8:00pm-9:00pm: Lesson with Boris Rudenko! Owner of Crown Dance Studio and dance instructor, Boris Rudenko was born in Siberia Russia and began dancing at age 7. An international Latin Ballroom dancer, he began competing at age 17, has competed and won in many competitions including: British Vice, US Dance Festivals in New York, Bosto...n, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco and International Festivals in Moscow, Winner in Open to the World in England, USA and Russia. Boris specializes in Latin dancing and is excited to be your instructor this month. 9:00pm-10:20pm: DJ Jenny Allen! Jenny Allen first began dancing in 2013 and hasn’t looked back since. Beginning with Swing Dancing, she has dabbled in other dancing genres before discovering Fusion. Her set will include a variety of songs that are more well known as well as newer discoveries. She wanted to make sure that there is a song for everyone to enjoy dancing to! ***10:20pm-10:30pm: Special performance by Boris Rudenko and Nadia Kireyko!*** 10:30pm-11:50pm: DJ Kendra Bork! Kendra Bork’s DJ style is heavily influenced by her love of dancing and diverse taste in music. From her original love of Lindy Hop and Balboa to her more recent passion for West Coast Swing and Fusion, it’s all about moving to the music. She plays for the dancers, tending toward music of all tempos that not only has soul, but also that something extra that inspires partners to play with. As a DJ, her goal is to get dancers of all levels to have fun on the dance floor and connect to the music and each other. 11:50pm-1:10am: DJ Chris Seidel! Chris’ set is a blend of instrumental electronica, fusion classics and even some EDM banjo that will get you in that fusion-y mood asap If you have any questions or comments feel free to message us!

Since First Friday can’t come soon enough I thought I’d share Down 2 Fusion’s event this Saturday at IM Dance Happy Studios to satisfy your fusion needs. The lesson will be taught by Isaiah Meders & Rachel Danielle Hayes at 8:00pm-9:00pm (some of you may recognize them from First Friday Fusion’s 1st and 2nd Anniversary Party ) Social Dance 9:00pm-12:00pm. Hey everyone! Hope you're getting excited for tomorrow’s event! Here's our instructor and DJ lineup for our 2nd First Friday Fusion of 2020! 8:00-9:00: Lesson with Terese Farmen! Terese Farmen, a local San Diego dancer, loves to teach, make and find awesome connection with other dancers. She manages two local dance teams, choreographs, performs and competes at swing events and is a regular Lindy Hop and Blues teacher at various dance venues in town. She says she's stoked to ...teach at First Friday Fusion and can't wait to meet folks on the dance floor! You can find her teaching weekly classes at Infinity on Thursdays at 6pm! 9:00-10:20: DJ Jesse O’Sullivan! Jesse has been dancing blues and fusion since 2012. His sets cross genres from electronic to R&B to funk to trip hop. Expect something fun, something new, some throwbacks to fusion of years past, and maybe something utterly ridiculous. 10:20-11:40: DJ Jenny Allen! She wanted to make sure that there is a song for everyone to enjoy dancing to! 11:40-1:00 AM: DJ Jeff Eldridge! Jeff has been playing in bands as a guitarist and vocalist since he was 12 and has a good grasp of musicality. He began swing dancing 22 years ago, and has studied Lindy Hop, Balboa, Collegiate Shag, Blues, Fusion and Tango. In 2017 he was a featured instructor at the Glasgow Getdown in Scotland, teaching Fusion and "Blango" a hybrid of Blues and Tango. He's taught hundreds to dance over the years and is always ready to help beginners learn. If you have any questions or comments feel free to message us!
