Dear Melvin, The devastating news about your passing reached us this weekend. We were in an FCC staff day, and together, we paused to honor your life with those who knew you and who loved you, and we shared our memories with those who didn’t have the fortune to know you personally. We are grateful for everything you’ve brought to our community and the FCC since we met you as a high school student. Every day, you shared your passion and leadership, your hopes and your creati...ve voice, and your personal struggles and joys, with all of us as we built a stronger community through groups like Alay Sf with emerging young leaders just like you. Thank you for choosing us to be a part of your community and family. You were often smiling, even on difficult days, and you reminded everyone that we can strive for a world where everyone can live with dignity. We will miss you and will continue to honor you as we work to create that better world, worthy of your genuine passion for life and for justice and liberation for all people. We love you, Melvin, Terry and Your FCC family

What are some ways that we can stay mentally healthy during this pandemic? Establishing a routine, keeping in touch with loved ones, spending time outside and being active, and staying informed while setting healthy boundaries can all contribute to better mental health. Every week our volunteers help deliver hot meals and groceries to low-income and food insecure households in our community as a part of our food delivery program at the FCC! We partner with local food banks and restaurants to provide these resources, most recently #FilipinosFeedTheFrontlines. This effort is in collaboration with NAFCON’s Bayanihan Response to COVID-19 Campaign, addressing the needs of Filipino people during this pandemic! On our June 4th delivery we served 79 households, 75 meals, 67 grocery bags with the help of 19 volunteers!
