The most wonderful time of the year!
A second day of Día de los Muertos celebrations.
Nestled on the side of our restaurant is this charming fountain adding to the one of a kind ambience you can only find at Casa de Reyes.
Happy Día de los Muertos! Since we don't have our altars up this year due to COVID-19, we thought we would bring two of them to you at home. You can see the Casa de Estudillo and Seeley Stable altars and learn a little about this interesting holiday.
This November, the California Restaurant Association Foundation, a non-profit that invests in and empowers California's restaurant workforce, invites all Califo...rnians to participate in its inaugural ‘The Grateful Table Dine Out! The ask is simple. Throughout November, Californians are encouraged to dine out to help out as much as possible in gratitude for their neighborhood restaurants. Want to do more? A guest can donate to help out California’s struggling foodservice community at featured restaurants. The Dine Out benefits Restaurants Care, a nonprofit program that provides restaurant workers facing hardships with relief grants for basic living needs like groceries, utilities, diapers, clothing, gas and rent. #GratefulTable https://thegratefultabledineout.org/
Happy Día de los Muertos from Fiesta de Reyes!
Excited to celebrate Día de los Muertos!
The Day of the Dead celebration might look a little different this year in Old Town. We will be open every day to honor the important event and are taking necessary steps to ensure we provide a safe environment.
Come see us on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays as we open select outdoor areas around the park! The Seeley Yard (featuring the Blacksmith Shop, Woodshop, an...d Donkey Corrals) and the garden area of La Casa de Machado y Stewart are open from 10am to 4pm on these days. Staff members will also be stationed on the porch of the Robinson-Rose Visitor Center, where the public can go for further information about park programs and museums, and adjacent restaurants and shops. All of these areas will require face coverings and safe, physical distancing to remain in effect. We hope to see you on a Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday sometime soon! See more
Hey there, heading our way?!?
As October starts coming to a close and we get closer to November, we here at Old Town San Diego State Historic Park begin thinking of Día de los Muertos. Since... we won’t be able to have an in-person event this year, we thought it might be nice to remember our deceased loved ones in a new, virtual way. Instead of our chalk graveyard, this year we want all of you to help us create a digital graveyard with tributes to your loved ones. Let your imagination and artistic side run wild and send a picture or scan of your loved one’s memorial to [email protected] by October 28th and we will put them together into one big digital tribute we will share on our social media during Día de los Muertos. We can't wait to see what everyone comes up with! See more
Why have one margarita when you can have two?!
