New knees need a strong core, it helps stabilize the hips. Old knees need a strong and flexible core, it helps absorb motion and balance for the knees and lower spine, to maintain alignment. Flexible in the right areas also helps prevent falls. No oopses please. CORE Synergy for knees please! Stay balanced, stay in the Light. Dr Ralph

Muscle testing is a very useful tool for evaluating balance and alignment problems, as they relate to pain, stiffness, neuropathy, health, and function. One special group of muscles are described as the CORE. These are especially important to the spine, and especially the lower back for grunt strength, flexibility and power. When they don’t coordinate, ... ouch! Disc problems, sciatica, all kinds of low back pain. So important to stay well adjusted and in balance, to stay in the game. What if you want to excell? How about CORE Synergy Tune-ups. Forty one years in the making. You want more out of your game, and chiropractic? Try it out. Call me at 707-994-6940, we can talk. Play long, play strong. Dr Ralph. Ps: used on my league champion athletes, state champions, and national championship cheer team. And most of my current patients.

I’ll ask the patient that ankle injury, was how long ago? The typical answer is oh, I’m all better now. Now I’m having (sciatica, on same side). It’s real easy to show someone how wrong they could be by simple muscle testing. And if the Md, PT, or DC only address the sight of pain, guess what? The pain comes back, because of contaminated weakening patterns in the muscle and fascia trains/meridians. Stretches alter the length, but don’t fix the nerves in the (by now fibrous... compensation, or scar tissue YUCK!) soft tissues. Scar tissue holds you back physically. If you work very hard at what you do, and you’re not where you think you ought to be, physically, health wise, maybe you need a new perspective. Or a new paradigm. Core balancing, core cleaning enhances the internal communication. As they say work smarter, not harder. Too true! Smarter wins every time! Not sorry, , Dr Ralph Ps: yes Kathy, it works on neuropathy. See more

I’ve been told to not work on it first. Just let ‘them’ (surgeons) find it, ‘fix it’ then later go in and clean it up. What if I clean up a lot of ‘mess’ first, and they can’t find it, who’s ahead? Grateful for surgeons good hands. Scar tissue: it’s what I do. A work in progress... Dr Ralph

Rehab is about getting from where you’re at, to where you want to be. Some of us know where we’re ‘at’, but most of us don’t. That’s why we go see the orthopedist, chiropractor, or some type of specialist, for evaluation. As some may know, last November my wife underwent knee replacement surgery. It was a necessary thing due to its situation. PT by Aunde Tyner has gone very well, for being a complicated case. The body becomes complicated when there are prior injuries with com...pensation patterns. Aunde is aware and patient, the surgeon not on the same page (doesn’t make him wrong). And yes, she appreciates the 6 days of soft tissue therapy treatment she gets at home. So now comes the journey of cleaning patterns and more scar tissue, rebuilding and repatterining. Maybe some of you can relate. Functionality is -> more fun. More to come... Work hard, play longer. Dr Ralph See more

Some may think Dr Fauci as a saint. Some not. Maybe the most confusing thing that he has stated is that the best defense for Covid-19 is your own immune system. Can’t argue with that. So how do you help your defenses? With your diet, lifestyle, and mindset. So let’s talk about diet. 1- Should be heavily plant based. 2- Low carb, starch, sugar. 3- Vit C: 1gmx4/day 4- Zinc citrate... 5- D3 with vit K2 6- mixed mushroom complex 7- Melatonin 8- Elderberry 9- Ginger 10- nitric oxide 11- Curcumin 12- Stinging nettle 13- Digestive enzymes & Hcl 14- prebiotics, probiotics 15- Omega 3, aloe Vera, garlic, onions Get plenty of exercise, daily activity. Vaccines are 40 - 60% effective, and can have serious negative side effects. The vaccine for the corona virus will be the least tested, to expedite because of demand. It’s hoped to be a panacea, but realistic expectations have been drowned out. Health is a culmination of good choices. Good choices come from education and discipline. Self education has fewer negative consequences. You be your best advocate, thrive. Play hard, play long. Dr Ralph. See more

Fire season is on us, breathing down our necks, again. I’m sorry for any inconvenience to our patients. Dr Marty got the notice Wednesday of evacuation warnings to his neighborhood, and needed to heed the warning. Gayla was responsible for her blind mother, and sisters house, who was out of town. Thursday, Cindy’s lungs already sounded like Joe Cocker after too many encores. Marty’s wife and mother-in-law are at my house. Tomorrow the fire is projected to turn and move into HVL and Dr Marty’s direction. We pray for a hedge of protection all around our communities. For all the families to be safely reunited. And reminded that Gods castles don’t burn! Hope to see you soon, Monday?. Stay safe, stay strong. Dr Ralph.

First day back is in the books. I’m sure that I speak for all of the staff, we missed you! We are all vulnerable to the virus, and will be compliant to standard health recommendations. I don’t agree with it 100%, but we need more herd immunity. Call the office @ 707-994-6940 to get an appointment, for we are working a limited scheduling, for now. Stay well, stay smart. Dr Ralph.

Some low back help for shelter in place relief, until the office reopens. Don’t hold your breath, blow out at the end points of R/L, breathe in at 12 o’clock. Ice first if acute, heat first if intermittent or chronic. Only rotate as far as comfortable. Do it for maybe 60 seconds, stand up and walk around, do some other stretches, repeat for 3 sets. More of this coming soon. Feel free to share. Stay safe, stay healthy. Dr Ralph.

Physical activity promotes improved health, both cardiovascular and musculoskeletal. With increased blood flow the immune cells are more active as well. With gyms being closed during this crisis, people are turning to home fitness to maintain vitality. A lot can be done with simple dumbbells or kettlebells. Just add variety to your routine by doing reps slower, aka ‘turtle reps’, to a 10 second count with 4 reps. Do standing reps on one foot, alternating feet every 5-10 seconds. Cut the weight for an exercise in half, and do higher reps. HIIT is popular, just make sure you’re doing a good warmup and warm down, to balance the workout add TaiChi or Yoga. A lot of great ideas at katiewilderthomas.com, scendfitness.com, and YouTube as well, to workout with. Stay well, play long. Dr Ralph.

Reading stories about covid-19 reactivating after testing negative for infection. I suspect this virus has been genetically modified, for this to happen. In which case it’s future is greatly uncertain, and we need to take this situation more seriously than a typical influenza outbreak. Our own better judgement may not be good enuf. We need to be more careful than that. Stay smart, stay healthy, pray much. Dr Ralph
