Welcome home, Metro @ Western residents! We joined Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, Mayor Eric Garcetti, and Councilmember Marqueece Harris-Dawson to celebrate the grand opening of the 33-unit affordable, transit-oriented development for veterans experiencing homelessness and families with limited means. Residents have access to onsite supportive services and are a short walk away from the Western Stop of the Metro Los Angeles Expo Line!

New Veteran's Housing Development in Sylmar After planning for nearly 4 years, construction is now beginning on Summit View apartments! This site will provide much needed affordable housing and services to veterans in Sylmar. The City of LA has deployed over 100 handwashing stations across Los Angeles to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 among homeless Angelenos. LAHSA assisted the Mayor’s Office and City Councilmember Offices by advising on handwashing station placement. Thank you to Mayor Garcetti and our LA City Councilmembers for securing this much-needed resource for our homeless neighbors. For a list of handwashing stations, see the link below.

Learn about the Gardner Street Women’s Bridge Home in Hollywood. The facility provides 30 beds for women experiencing homelessness along with support services and other amenities. Watch the video to hear from LAHSA’s Commission Chair Sarah Dusseault who led the way on the initiative to turn the former Gardner Street Library into a bridge home that serves women, staff, women who stay in the facility, and community members.
