It was great having a small tasting today. We love getting back in the groove.

Patrick and I were at a fundraiser tonight and we ran into our very first bride, Julie Parra. Julie has been a huge supporter of FHL through the years. We shared when Manny and Julie had their first baby, Alyssa. Julie always cheers us on. We have also shared sadness. Manny passed away from cancer about a year and a half ago. Through posts, we shared their grief. We’ve watched Alyssa grow to now be heading into her senior year. They lived through over 16 years of incredible ups and downs. Tonight, we cheers Alyssa and Julie. Alyssa to have an amazing senior year and to Julie for being a rockstar of strength and to moving through sadness to happiness. You will always love him, but you will love again.

We have had a day of celebration to move forward with business. Today is also a day for our sweet Valerie to move forward too. She is moving on, and although we are extremely sad to lose this fierce, sweet, rockstar of our Forest House family, we are happy that she’s going back to her roots, New York. She has moved mountains while she has been with us, we feel, personally and professionally. We know she will be missed within our family and vendors. We wish Val so much happiness and success. Go to the east coast and show them how weddings are really done! We love you, Val. You are already missed. We won’t be the same without you. Cheers!

Given international concerns regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), I want to personally reach out and communicate directly the precautions Forest House Lodge is taking to keep our guests and team safe while allowing us to continue to serve you with confidence. None of our events shall exceed the Government Mandate of 250 person gatherings. We are and will continue to be in compliance with every mandate. We are continuously monitoring the recommendations of governmental ...health agencies, such as the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and local health organizations. We have further elevated our stringent cleaning and sanitation protocol. Here are some examples of what we are doing: Instructing employees to wash their hands a minimum of hourly, which has been proven by the CDC to be the most effective preventative measure. As per state and government health codes, all of our guest rooms and bedding is sanitized daily using products approved on the EPA product list. Disinfecting bathrooms, door handles, high-touch hard surfaces throughout the Venue hourly. Deep cleaning every morning in all areas of the venue, including stair rails, bathrooms and any common areas. Providing hand sanitizer and tissue stations, as well as gloves for our guests. Removing the self-serve option on buffet, our staff will serve from the line with gloves, ensuring minimal cross contamination of utensils between guests. Educating our team on COVID-19 symptoms as well as preventative measures. Requiring that those who are not feeling well stay home to prevent the spread of germs. COVID-19 has negatively impacted our communities. Forest House Lodge, along with our amazing community, will come together to overcome this disease. We will remain in close contact with governmental health agencies and take the proper precautions as this situation evolves. Thank you for entrusting your day with Forest House Lodge!
