Over the years our small, but mighty team has helped raise over $200K through the American Diabetes Association Wine Country Tour de Cure to help find a cure for diabetes. Though socially distant tomorrow, we’re still so excited we can fundraise for the cure and ride virtually this Sunday (tomorrow)! There’s still time to help our team fundraise for a cure, and have a little or a lot to give, donate to the link below: https://bit.ly/2SftiMy... #VirtualTourdeCure2020 #FENNIEMEHL #donateforacause

Built in 1925, this building holds great character with high ceilings, period details, and classic windows. To maximize the building’s worth, F+M has renovated and improved many elements of the property from the main building lobby that was refreshed with new finishes, furniture, lighting, and a curated art selection to improving the popular rooftop terrace with views of the Giants ballpark and South Park neighborhood. The team also added a workout and yoga studio and shower facilities, popular tenant amenities that other SOMA office buildings notoriously lack. The Swig Company is a national commercial real estate firm with an 80-year legacy of trust and sound investments. They have repeatedly delivered for both tenants and investors through many market cycles. Over the past decade, FENNIE+MEHL’s business partnership with the Swig Company has supported this promise at three of Swig’s San Francisco properties, including 501 2nd Street. In an effort to maintain its position as the premier Class A SOMA office ...property in the South Park area of the city, F+M worked closely with Swig to design state-of-the-art tenant amenities and upgrades to the property steadily over the years that attract and maintain a diverse tenant mix of technology and venture capital firms. Design upgrades were incremental and strategic, and F+M’s enhancements blended seamlessly with the existing architectural space resulting in a more functional, modern, and attractive building. We’re bringing out this oldie, but goodie, to celebrate World Architecture Day, our Founders, Ned Fennie and Doug Mehl! #worldarchitectureday We really believe that there’s never been a better time to be a designer. There’s a much better future out there that we have the power to help design. This past year we’ve been able to really explore and define a one size does not fit all concept. 2020 has proven to be a tumultuous year and the calamities we have all endured have claimed countless victims. Besides deaths, illness, lost jobs, fire victims, weather catastrophes, and more, many efforts to cure other diseases are being forced to take a backseat in the search for answers to the pandemic. Which is why we are supporting the American Diabetes Association through the 2020 Tour de Cure - Wine Country on October 18, 2020. We have assembled a team of b...ike riders to ride to support fundraising for research for a cure. The Tour will be held virtually this year with everyone riding as individuals along routes of their choosing to comply with social distancing norms. Our team’s fundraising goal is at least $12,000.00 and we will need all your help in achieving it. We know it may be difficult to submit a financial donation and we would understand, but please reach out let us know that you support our efforts and we will be thinking of you and all our supporters when we ride. To support us please make a donation through the link provided: https://bit.ly/2SftiMy

Before this month comes to a close, congratulations are in order! Happy 6 year anniversary to Principal Diana Nankin and happy 2 year anniversary to Junior Designer Kristen Bates! After 12 years in graphic design and six years in urban planning, Diana added a certificate of interior design to her resume and joined F+M. She uses visioning to help define a client’s culture and business goals, and applies that knowledge to create unexpected interior designs, with a particular ...interest in the integration of art and architecture in creatively branded interiors. Kristen grew up renovating and designing her family’s rental property in New Hampshire, so interior design comes naturally. But her study of sociology, anthropology and biophilia how we humans like to connect with nature and other forms of life has given her insight into how humans find happiness interacting with each other and their surroundings. For the past six years, two has hosted an event called Chairity, created to bring the design community together to up-cycle furniture (typically chairs) to help raise money for local non-profits. This year, they’re changing it up. In keeping the tradition of bringing together the design community, they have officially expanded it to include manufacturer partners. In past years, design teams have often collaborated with local makers to create their chairs. For Chair...ity 2020, they’re celebrating this collaboration by supporting our maker community by pairing 30 design teams with 30 manufacturers to develop an auction piece together. We are so thrilled to be teaming up with new American design manufacturer, Corral to create a piece for Chairity 2020! Though this year’s format is different, the mission remains the same: coming together to give back to our local community through creativity and design thinking.
