'I hear the train a comin'! sang Johnny Cash in Folsom Prison Blues. Did you know we have our own local personality who keeps our railroad history alive? Bill A...nderson. Named as the Folsom Historical Society 2019 History Hero, we are grateful for his contagious passion for railroad history. He has been Folsom's leading railroad advocate for the past 30+ years. Help us continue to honor Bill's work by supporting the Folsom Railroad Museum this March for Museum Membership Month. #HistoricFolsom #visitfolsom #visitgoldcountry #visitcalifornia #fedshra Folsom History Museum Donate here. http://fedshra.org/join/ See more

If you design a building like this, you need to honor the history, said Bernau. As luck would have it, the empty parcel that once housed the old four-stall roundhouse in 1869 would be the same location that Bernau and his team would build the modern-day version, while still keeping historical elements intact. When they did the excavation for this building, they found where the tracks came in, it was exactly where the roundhouse used to be. The archeologists found the foundation and recorded them, said Bernau.
More from the volunteers at PSVRR. Delivery photos and videos.
Please contact the Placerville & Sacramento Valley Railroad and see how you can volunteer to help run historic trains out of Folsom to Sacramento County and maybe El Dorado County.
