ALL SAINTS' DAY - Meditation from Lori Ortiz All Saints’ Day is a special day on the church calendar, one set aside to honor those Saints who have gone before us. In all times and places, this is an opportunity to process both our grief and our joy in community, however, this spiritual practice has been more challenging to do this year. Therefore, you may find it helpful and centering to take time for yourself in prayer and meditation. This week, I invite you to say aloud ...the following prayer before entering into a time of silent reflection. Think also about the faith of those beloveds who have passed on: how did they express their trust in God? How did they express their faith? A Prayer for All Saints’ Day from The Book of Common Prayer Almighty God, you have knit together your elect in one communion and fellowship in the mystic body of your Son Christ our Lord: Give us Grace to follow your blessed saints in all virtuous and godly living, that we may come to those ineffable joys that you have prepared for those who truly love you; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen

MEDITATION by Rev. Evelyn Vigil When things get so bad that I just can’t stand what is going on, I tell myself, This too shall pass. I mutter these words multiple times during the day if necessary. This too shall pass has pulled me through grief and surgery and all kinds of sorrow that we encounter in this world. Too bad it’s not in the Bible. For years I thought it was a biblical verse, but I was wrong. ...Continue reading
