"The analysis, based on a computational model, focuses on inhibitory neurons the brain’s traffic cops that help ensure proper neurological responses to incoming stimuli by suppressing other neurons and working to balance excitatory neurons, which aim to stimulate neuronal activity." #E1T1 #AdmiredMan #FreeSATPrepWorkshop #AlWootenJrHeritageCenter #iHeartWatts #iHeartCompton #BestStartWattsWillowbrook #First5LA #LeadershipAndChange #DeterminationNotDespair #WattsGangTaskForce #SPMGMEDIA

WOW!!! I get to lecture at Los Angeles Southwest Community College. Thank you Dr. Robert. I am looking forward to it. Dr. Chris Hickey will discuss servant leadership and the making of admired men and women with Dr. Lance Robert’s Political Science 41 class. All interested students are welcome to attend. The class meets Tuesday, Oct. 11, from 11:10 a.m. to 12:05 p.m. in SSEC 301B. Why should you check out this class?... 1. Attendees will gain insight into how Servant Leadership and the Qualities, Behaviors and Characeristics (QBC's) can shift how we relate to each other culturally and racially. 2. Attendees will gain understanding of tangible ways QBC's impact lives of those in their sphere of influence (business, school, communities, etc.) Read more about Dr. Hickey at http://admiredman.com.

"Parents and students testified to the impact and unfairness of being denied funding from Measure G, which was passed by Oakland voters in 2008 to help all public schools. Charter students, unfortunately, have been excluded. Funding from Measure G, which amounts to around $20 million this year, would provide much-need support to charter students by helping their schools increase teacher salaries, purchase textbooks, keeping class sizes small and prepare students for college." #E1T1

"Maybe you guessed it, but we just released a Spanish adaptation of The Importance of an Involved Father brochure. The English version was so popular, we knew we needed to provide it for Spanish speaking dads, too!" #AdmiredMan #E1T1

Is the Man gonna run out on the Family? A very interesting study. "Analyzing data from the same sample of 800 unmarried Texas moms that pointed to the importance of dad's presence at birth, researchers found that 27% of unmarried dads were completely uninvolved in their child's life a mere three months after their child's birth. (For details on how the researchers defined and measured involvement, read the research brief.) The good news, of course, is that nearly three quarters of the unmarried dads were involved." #E1T1
