Visiting my home country of The Netherlands and visited the Rotterdam city riding stable. All the horses looked beautiful but I was very saddened to see the tiny stalls that horses are kept here in the Netherlands. Most are in small box stalls with no out. 10.5 ft x 10.5 ft There are little ponies as well as giant warmbloods in the same size stalls. That is the minimum size stalls as allowed by Dutch law. I have included some photos of the way the horses used to be kept which was tied and facing the wall, that only changed about 25 years ago. I remember when I grew up that is how all the horses were kept. Shows you how far we have come but this also shows you how far we still need to go to insure humane treatment of horses.

We mainly work with private owners, race track, directly with trainers and owners and this is where our horses come from. We refuse to fall victim to the drama and dishonesty of the kill pen brokers. For those of you who are compelled to donate towards the relief efforts of the recent fires in California ... a friend of mine asked me to find a proper organization to donate to, that is fighting at the front lines, and relieving the enormous impact of this devastating fire. I knew just the person and organization who is running a MASH style mobile vet clinic, at the parking lot of Pierce College. I can personally assure you, that any and all donations, will go directly to... aiding hurt and displaced animals from the recent fires.
