We will make fresh batches of our Real Food Dressings this week and I realized that I should talk more about the outstanding ingredients and about the care and integrity they are made with. We are a fully transparent business. As this is fortunately more and more expected in the food industry, this has always been a core value of Farmhouse Lab. You should know everything about our products and we are putting so much effort in selecting our raw materials and partners, that we ...are extremely proud to share all of their stories with you. Our dressings are made at @preservefarmkitchens in Petaluma, CA - a unique, certified organic co-packer who puts farmers first and supports these important stewards of the land who utilize practices to get carbon back into the soil, a critical step to fight the climate crisis. Their mission is to support small, local farms by utilizing the whole harvest to make gourmet food products. And they offer co-packing for makers like us. Farmhouse Lab consciously sources and crafts our dressings and working with @preservefarmkitchens allows us to select the specific origin ingredients, be at productions in person and to go above and beyond making our own food by supporting local farms - we love going full circle. In addition, PFK is women-owned and run - we know the staff personally and appreciate them each individually. Lastly, it is the cleanest kitchen I have ever seen Yes, we could save costs by switching to a larger co-packer - but we are not interested because we see the value and we believe you can taste the goodness in our products. It has been a while since I hosted my friend @amytorgeson for dinner (pic taken 2018) but we are lucky enough to have trails to share for runs and hikes and our families are connected despite the pandemic . @amytorgeson is an artist working in printmaking and collage. Her work is influenced by nature, textiles and the colors and textures gathered through travel. Her prints and collages reflect a modern, abstract sensibility and often focus on the direct experience of colo...r, shape, line and pattern. Every time, I see new pieces of her art I want to surround myself with it. When I saw her carved block print stamped on a paper grocery bag, I knew this was material for a collaboration! Amy - as so many of us - loves receiving a hand-written note in the mail and is doing her best to keep the tradition alive.
