I’m all about subtle color these days. @iamtaylorragan just looks like she’s been out in the sunshine with these super soft balayage highlights! We gave her cut some new life too with lots of layers and bangs that will look cute and stylish whether she’s got her hair up or down. Vaccine summer here we come!

Sometimes volume is higher priority than curl definition, and that can be super fun. We cut off all the dead weight, used the super light @davinesofficial Love Curl Cream for a little frizz control, and gave Alisha the fluffy curls of her dreams.

Some melty vanilla highlights really brightened up @marissa_heather on this rainy day.

What a roller coaster this week has been! Leaving The Local was so very sad, but I’m excited to say that tomorrow is my first day in my cute little studio! It was a ton of work getting it ready, but thankfully I have lots of smart and handy friends to help me. My chosen fam has shown up in a big, big way this week, and I’m so grateful. Thanks to @calimoz @irenamurphy @taylorjwoodworth @samschwartzman & Angie for helping me get up and running and doing the things my DIY challe...nged brain just can’t do. Also, @rosiefiorehairstories @erinnvanwelkerhair and @hairbyamyedwards are in the suite down the hall, and they’re already the best neighbors. I will likely be their Kosmo Kramer sliding in to bug them and borrow things all the time. I’m still going to be following all the COVID guidelines very closely, and I am so grateful for this safe, comfortable workspace that will allow me to keep you all looking and feeling your best! It’s been a really hard year for small, family owned businesses like The Local. Sadly, multiple shut downs have taken their toll and we’ll be closing permanently on 2/28. The Local has always been a special place. More than just a hair salon, more than vanity-it is a community. I’ve never felt as comfortable in a work place as I have here. I will be forever grateful to @rosiefiorehairstories for creating such a wonderful space for us all and taking a chance on a random, red h...aired (!) stylist that wandered in with a resume over 7 years ago. Don’t worry, though! I’m staying in the area and moving to a private studio inside Salon Republic Burbank (attached to the Burbank Town Center mall). All the new contact info is in my bio, and my online booking link is live! I can’t wait to welcome you all into my new little home and keep helping you all look and feel your best. We’re still open (for now) at even more limited capacity! We’re all doing our best to keep The Local as safe as possible and keep y’all looking as cute as possible. Melissa has been growing out a pixie, and I’m loving this transitional shape we gave her to keep her from having the dreaded quarantine mullet while she waits for the front to get long enough to have the bob of her dreams.

Fresh curls never get old

Everyone is a makeover these days, even if we’re just going back to what we always do. I hadn’t seen Kyle since late February and needless to say it was a big cut! Swipe to see the big transformation.

@brigid.marshall has been waiting patiently for MONTHS to shape up her curls and punch up her naturally red hair with a little gloss. Now she’s back to feeling something closer to normal again!
