The Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC) has levied significant fines against Blue Shield of California and Anthem Blue Cross of California for furnishing inaccurate provider directories to its enrollees who signed up through the state health insurance exchange in 2013. Blue Shield of California was fined $350,000, while Anthem Blue Cross was fined $250,000.
