This here is 'Bubba' one of my newest favorite trees. 'Bubba' aka Chilopsis linearis, or Desert Willow, has been blooming all summer long and will contiune to flower through early fall. His fragrant flowers bloom a dark purple/ lavender bicolor and are reminiscent of orchids or giant snapdragons. 'Bubba' is a decidious, sun-loving and drought-tolerant tree. The long, narrow willow like leaves grow on branches with a lovely twisting growth habit. He may be grown as a single or multi-trunk tree or a large rounded out shrub. Unpruned 'Bubba' will grow to about 25' high and wide, is hardy to 15 degrees and will take full sun. That 'Bubba', what a catch!
