Great background on our neighbor bike park
As members of Family FreeRide and the Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District discus what a bike park expansion would look like, this article popped up about a brand new 3.5 mile xc race course near Bentonville Arkansas... The idea behind our xc/flow trail would be similar, but designed for beginner riders, just like our pump track has been. To build the skills of new riders. It would have features along the trail that one would run into while mountain biking, like an obstacle course for bikes. https://www.singletracks.com//centennial-park-arkansas-co/
ARTIST/GRAPHIC DESIGNER NEEDED to help develop a concept design for our bike park expansion proposal to the Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District board. This pic of the Redding bike park is an example of what we're looking for. DM with a link to examples of your work and your rate
Nice work Cosumnes CSD Parks and Recreation on adding some variety to the Elk Grove Bike Park. #Mountainbikersneedbikeparkstoo @Shawn Warren was one of the builders of the pump track at the Fair Oaks Bike Park, along with @Alex Fowler. I hear these guys have been busy. Awesome to see so much work being done building bike parks.
Which Logo do you like better? Blue or Green? The Blue Phoenix logo is under consideration by the Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District to become the official logo of the bike park. The green logo is the current official logo. The blue Phoenix logo was created because the bike park is in Phoenix Park, and is part chicken ;-) a symbol of Fair Oaks. There is potential for the bike park to expand and include features for more advanced riders, so the silhouettes of the younger riders on the green logo might not fit. Also, consider if these logos were printed on tshirts and stickers, which one do you think would be received better by the public at large.
We are looking for a metal fabricator to give us a bid on a rolling gate and shade structure for the bike park, if anyone has any recommendations?
Bike Park is Open. There was a little rain last night but not enough to soak the track to the point it would have to be closed to prevent damage from riding on it.
Huge turnout at the bike park this afternoon. Meriah Horton had a huge clan of kids with her nephews in tow.
Whose idea was it to do maintenance days on Sunday afternoon anyway? Not sure how everyone will respond if we close it down right now. Maybe we can do some minor touchup and still keep it open this afternoon
Another bike park in S. CA?!?! Nice work San Diego Mountain Biking Association
Nice work Mountain Bikers of Santa Cruz!

Heads up!!! Bike park is closed this week. The irrigation system is being installed so we can keep the track solid and dialed in. Huge thanks to the Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District Board for approving this important upgrade.
Check out this video about the building of Bijou bike park up in South Lake Tahoe: https://vimeo.com/143333836 We're hoping to get @Ben Fish to say a few words at next weeks meeting. He was instrumental in the building of the Bijou Bike Park and will hopefully have some advice on how we can grow the Fair Oaks Bike Park.
If you are interested in helping out at the Fair Oaks Bike Park and want to learn more about a possible expansion, please join Family FreeRide next Tuesday night, October 13th for their monthly meeting on Google Meet meet.google.com/oyr-vrcs-bev
Today is the 3 month anniversary of the bike park reopening with the addition of the pump track. Seems fitting that there were 3 generations of a family riding there. #moregenerationsonbikes #multigenerationalpark #lifetimesport #bikeparks #everycommunityneedsabikepark #morekidsonbikes
Twin sisters Kennedy and Kerrington Edwards from BMX Team Terripin Technology had their home school PE session at the bike park today while mom Kimberly tried to stay cool on the sideline. Make sure to check them out on race days, Wednesdays and Saturdays, at Oak Creek Bmx
