This is one market you won’t want to miss. As a special treat , Don the Fishmonger will be bringing sustainable, traceable mostly local seafood, please show him how much you would love to have this at our market every week and hopefully next year he will return as a regular vendor. Autumn has arrived and she brings with her an abundance of delicious and nutritious fruits and vegetables. Check out the farmers market tonight for the bounty of fall.

We're waiting for some updated numbers, so this amount will go up, but, as of right now, through our participating markets, we have distributed $21,255 in EBT a...nd Market Match Incentives in August! The USDA states that every dollar that is spent at a local farmers' market, reflects $1.79 in total community spending. In other words, for every dollar that is spent in the community, it is almost a double investment! With this economic multiplier, it represents over $38,000 that stayed local in our community in August, at a time when supporting local is extremely important. These numbers are far more than just dollars. Every dollar is being used to increase consumption of healthy, local, sustainably grown food by low-income community members, improve the economic viability of local farms, and reduce the distance and disconnect between consumers and farmers. Keep spreading the word about Market Match and how people can use their EBT cards and get a $10-$20 match (depending on the market) to stretch their food budget and fill it with flavorful, colorful, and healthy produce!
