You should watch this if you have facial fillers and are planning on getting the COVID vaccine. Having fillers should not be a reason to not get the vaccine if you were planning on getting it. This type of swelling can happen with other types of infections or inflammatory processes and resolves quickly and with minimal intervention. I feel incredibly privileged to have received my first dose of the COVID vaccine yesterday I understand that many people have reservations about this vaccine. And if I am being honest, I did too. I wasn’t comfortable about being in the first cohort to receive this new vaccine. I never adopt new technologies to use on my patients until I see that others have vetted it and it appears to be safe & effective. So, why would I not offer myself the same courtesy? Well, I did a lo...t of research, read many articles and talked to people who know more about vaccines than I do. I trust the doctors and scientists who put in the research to bring this vaccine to fruition. I believe in science and have faith in the process. And in the end, I felt that this was the best decision for me in the interest of my family, my patients and my staff. If you look closely at my arm, you can see I’m no stranger to vaccines. I have two scars: one scar from a SMALLPOX vaccine and a smaller one from the BCG vaccine. Smallpox was declared eradicated a short time after I received my vaccine.
