You know someone whose brows need a little love. They may have gotten a microblading procedure a year or two ago and now the color has faded to either a soft gray, a soft salmon or maybe even a purple or green. . It’s time they got those brows touched up. My client here has been coming to me for years. Last time I saw her was right in 2019. Due to the stay at home orders in 2020, she did not visit me for her yearly color boost. So when she came in last week, she really neede...d to get her brows color booster. Which means, I go over the entire brow and put in fresh hair strokes for her. . She has very oily skin so the fact that color stayed on her skin is amazing. She told me that the color generally stays about a year and then starts to turn a soft gray at around 14 months. Considering her skin type that’s very good news. Most color boosts are done a year in a half to two years after the initial procedure. . Don’t let your mom, grandma or sister walk around with gray eyebrows. Tell them it’s time they got them color boosted and if they don’t have an artist they currently see have them call me. . This has nothing to do with makeup. This has to do with mental health. Why do I keep crying every time I play this? I don’t even need to see the video, just hearing the voices. It’s just heartbreaking. . Isolation is really the killer right now. Just as bad as Covid. So many college kids keep their cameras off during the zoom lectures so this teacher had everyone say, I love you before logging off and the reaction of this student. Ugh. You know she wasn’t the only one feel...ing this way. . Please remember everyone is struggling. It’s easy to forget as we are consumed with worried about ourselves and our family. If you know a college kid or single person living alone, reach out to them. Chances are they aren’t sharing with you their true pain. I remember when my daughter told me back in 2015 that I should post pictures of my work on a platform called Instagram. She was in middle school at the time. I laughed at the idea. I remember saying to her, Isn’t that a place for people to share photos of their friends and family? Why would I post my business photos on there? Well, it took me TWO YEARS after that conversation (a very late start) to realize how right my middle schooler was. Now in college, I beg her @parkerg...ordon for social media advice. . This is one of my very early posts, from 2017. I think it may have been my forth or fifth post I did on Instagram. Back then you could do collages and they would fit nicely. Now it’s cut off on the top and bottom because the size ratio has changed. Collages were all the rage when I started too. . I probably spent a good two hours doing this collage. I agonized over getting these photos just right. Only to be told that I shouldn’t be posting photos of ‘old people’, it’s not what potential clients want to see. . I struggled with it back then and still do today. My clients are all different ages but a majority of them are over the age of 55. I know young and pretty is the market but we have to be realistic. Not every client that walks through my door is going to be a beautiful 22-year-old model. Do I not showcase my every day woman? . This client is over 80. I think she looks incredible. You can make any 25 year old eyebrow look great. They’re 25. Can you make an 80 year-old‘s eyebrows look great? .
