The pulled into its final destination today after 4,028 free meals served to our valued and essential Truckers. Dine n Dash and E Z Electric would like to thank each and every person that volunteered to hand out meals, bake cookies, write poems, make signs, donated money and all the other beautiful gestures we received that I am failing to mention. We appreciate and love you all. The great thing about being an American is that we have the opportunity, in our Country, to... turn an idea into a reality . Steve, Stacey, Larinda, Santana and Dave, your ability to produce the amount of quality food, day after day, was second to none. Bob Mathews, your dedication is always appreciated! Andrew Green and Casey Bernard, we were thankful to have your help. Kathy Zachman, thank you for having a dream and for the passion you showed each and every day! You made this all happen. 3,399 free meals and counting. We ran out of food today at 1:30pm because of the large quantity of Trucks. The is picking up steam right as we are about to end the effort but the success has been beyond our wildest imagination. The Trucker should forever be seen as an essential function within our economy. If the Coronavirus hasn’t changed the perception of Trucking, nothing ever will. Thank you to our volunteers today:... 2,379 free meals served to Truckers as of today. Looks like our goal of 3,000 meals will be easily achieved as we plan on serving through next Friday. Today’s special thanks goes to our volunteers: Ashley Martinez Mitzi Copeland Jordan Bailey... Tim Wheeler I have to say that today had a theme.....Girl Power. We served more female Truckers than ever before. It is awesome to see them drive those Big Rigs with such skill. The keeps rolling. Stay tuned...

2,123 free meals served so far through Wednesday, April 22, 2020. We will be out there again today looking to serve another 250 free meals. We are hoping to continue until Friday, May 1.

We have served 1,873 free meals as of today. We should break the 2,000 free meal mark tomorrow. Thank you to our volunteers today; Mimi and Nicole Gearing and John Petersen. Great job! You brought happiness to many Truckers today.

Two HUGE highlights from today while we were Feeding the Truckers. A Trucker from Michigan walked over to our station and asked all of us to sign his Trucker poem. He said he was on his way home to Michigan and was going to frame his signed poem and hang it on his wall. He was extremely moved by our act of kindness. The second highlight involves a Trucker and his wife. They have been stopping at either the East and Westbound Rest Areas every day since we have been ser...ving meals. He stops to pray to his God and has declined our meals each day due to the fact that the meals contain meat. This morning I asked the cooks to make some meat free breakfast burritos, which they did. The Trucker and his wife pulled into the Eastbound Rest Area today and I approached his truck offering him a meat free meal. His reaction is one I will never forget. We look forward to seeing them tomorrow. There is one thing all of the Truckers share and that is their appreciation for what we are doing. We tell them that we appreciate what THEY are doing for use. 1,623 and counting. P.S. CalTrans emailed me our permits for both Rest Areas this evening. CalTrans could not be more supportive.

Day 6 is in the books. Ran out of food at 2:15pm but look at what showed up right as we were leaving....THANK YOU Tom Dwelle of Flyers for the $5,000 donation!!!!!!!!!! Truckers can’t thank you enough!

I just received a call from CalTrans (on a Sunday....thank you CalTrans!) letting me know that I was the very first applicant in the State of CA to apply for the temporary food service permit. They were quite congratulatory! I have some further documentation to provide but they seem excited to issue us permits for both East and Westbound Gold Run Rest Areas. Looks like the is going to continue to roll.... See you tomorrow Truckers. We have another 250+ free meals to hand out.

E Z Electric and Dine n Dash has just right now submitted its application to CalTrans for our Food Service Permit. If we are NOT granted a permit, we sure hope whoever is granted the permit is going to provide FREE food for the Truckers like we plan on doing until the end of April. Truckers, you are ESSENTIAL and APPRECIATED!!!!!
