ECC in partnership with Visit Oakland had the privilege of hosting 37 members of the National Coalition of Black Meeting Planners (NCBMP) this afternoon on our "Spirit of the Town" Mobile Tour of Oakland! We started at the Oakland Marriott; shopped at the Beastmode Store; and ventured through historic parts of West Oakland; line danced with Ms. Patricia Lowe "Chocolate Platinum" herself; and ended in the North at OVO for a private reception. More than anything, I am grateful... to use this tour as a platform to uplift culturally enlightened perspectives about the "soulful" experience of Oakland, despite the changing demographics of our hometown.
