Demonstrate that you researched their path and have specific reasons why you want to learn from them. 2 Share why you admire them - what about their journey inspires you? What barriers have they broken... or achievements have they had that have meant something to you? 3 Be clear and upfront about what you're asking of your mentor. What are your short-term and long-term goals for the relationship? How much time are you asking them to commit?
