Leave the shoes at the door: It is surprising to see so many families openly allow shoes to be worn inside the house. Carpets get very dirty and shoes bring in all kinds of germs and nastiness into the house. Leave the shoes at the door and maintain a strict policy about it. Many families oftentimes have indoor slippers in their entryway in which to walk around the house. Every time shoes are worn inside the house, you should consider vacuuming at the end of every day. Finish cleaning dishes and clean the kitchen every night: We have a strict policy in our household that the kitchen cannot be left in less than perfect condition. That means all dishes need to be washed to put in the dishwasher, all countertops need to be wiped down, floors need to be swept, and the sinks need to be wiped down. This process can take a good 30-45 minutes if the kitchen was busy on a particular night, but it is totally worth it. There is nothing quite like waking up and walking into a clean kitchen in the morning to start your day. Dirty kitchens could spoil your mood in the morning.
