Eskaton Village Grass Valley's Life Enrichment Leprechauns served up some fun for St. Patrick's Day. They served a variety of Irish snacks and of course green beer! Eskaton Village Grass Valley is very fortunate to have many genres of music available from our area. InConcert Sierra and Master Chorale released a production of "The Armed Man-A Mass for Peace" that was performed to great reviews in 2012 and 2016. One of our EVGV residents sang at the concert. Eskaton Village Grass Valley has a great online exercise program led by life enrichment coordinator, Jerri Lynn. Our senior exercise program has both standing and seated exercises for thirty minutes. Residents can use weights if they wish for a stronger workout. #EskatonWellness #WeAreEskaton #QuarantineFitness

Saturday in Sierra Vista started with the art project of decorating cut outs of our fine feathered friends we embellished. Residents truly enjoyed the choices of paint, glitter and pho-feathers. After lunch we brought the rackets to eager hands, and Ed used two rackets - one for each hand, he wasn't about to let that balloon get by him. While the residents played 2 hours of balloon badminton the only time we slowed down was when we were laughing so hard with each other and... at ourselves. Shirley used techniques from her childhood; she would ride her bicycle with friends -dribble the basketball and shoot hoops while peddling! Robert S. used a strategy, he hit the balloon gently a few times and when least expecting it ...he gave a full whack sending it across the unexpecting group with a sly smile. Floral bingo brought the gang together for the days ending activity, prior to dinner time, the yummy chocolate candy winnings were a delightful appetizer. #WeAreEskaton #QuarantineCrafts #EskatonVillageGrassValley

At Eskaton Village Grass Valley we: resolve to stay positive, wear our masks and practice safety! January is Reminiscence Month (or Celebrate the Past Month) and we are Flashing Back to the 40's. Although dominated by WW II, the decade brought us victory gardens, Rosie the Riveter, the baby boom and many fabulous fads and fashions. 2020 seems to have some interesting parallels. We have fought the war against Covid-19, the planting of home gardens exploded and people took on roles that they never expected (like parents becoming teachers). Because of the stay at home order there is an expectation of another baby boom and of course the fads and fashions-hand sanitizer and face masks. Let us take on the Rosie the Riveter attitude of "We Can Do It!" and make 2021 a great year! #WeAreEskaton #WayBackWednesday

Oh the weather outside isn't frightful... but inside is truly delightful! In Sierra Vista, this Sunday before Christmas, a creative mix of art projects were having the finishing touches added as we listened to holiday music and sang (sometimes filling in our own rhyming words to keep up the festive spirit!) In our creative hands hour you see resident Joann adding green branches to her wood Christmas tree trinket box. Good laughter, great spirits and lots of love shared around the activity area. #holidaycheer
