Fraudsters are at it again. With the extra time that COVID-19 is providing, fraudsters continue to get creative with their ploys of obtaining member information. Utilize the following tips to ensure fraud safety. -Use caution when verifying your account information over the phone -Never provide your personal information to an unidentified recipient -Do not click on a link sent to you through text or email if you do not know the sender... -Call your Credit Union if you are unsure about a call, text or email you received that seems suspicious We urge you to be very wary of any phone call, text message or email you may receive inquiring about banking or personal information. Please check for authenticity through your normal means when faced with any unsolicited contact.

-The IRS will be sending Economic Impact Payments over the next several weeks to those eligible. -The first wave, an estimated 81 million payments, are set to deposit on Wednesday, April 15th. -The IRS will have your account information through filing your taxes in 2018, 2019 or through other federal programs. ... -If you receive your tax returns by check, you will receive your stimulus check the same way.

The safety and health of our staff and members is our absolute priority. Although EFCU will remain open and staffed to help you with your financial needs, we have taken the following precautions to reduce the possibility of contact; 1) Encouraging all members to utilize remote banking services whenever possible. Most loan applications can be accepted and funded electronically. 2) Our lobby will have restrictive access. For your convenience, we will be offering appointments ...by calling 760-839-4606. Security precautions will take place before entering the lobby. 3) Be advised; the ATM daily withdrawal limit is $500. If you need more cash than that, please call for an appointment as above. 4) Unlike cash, your credit and debit cards will generally not be touched by anyone else in the course of a transaction, and can be cleaned. Minimize use of cash during this period. We do have instant issue debit cards available. 5) Strict staff compliance of good hygiene practices like hand washing, distancing, and use of hand sanitizer has been enforced. 6) EFCU staff have been assigned frequent cleaning of the premises and the ATMs. EFCU prides itself on understanding economic hardships during emergencies for our members. We are working on providing special loan programs for members directly affected by the current economic disruptions. All precautions and enforcement's will be updated as the situation and health guidance changes. EFCU appreciates your patience as we deal with these challenges all while continuing to provide all of you with the best level of financial services possible.
