Word on the therapist street is that if you feel exhausted by zooming and video chats, there is a very legitimate reason why. Its been referred to as 'plausible... deniability of absence'. Its this idea that our minds are being tricked into the idea of being together when our bodies are not, and this dissonance can be exhausting. (If you want to know more about the physiological changes that occur when you're in the physical presence of someone but that fail to occur via phone or video chat I can defs tell you more). It's easier being in each others presence or absence, than it is to be in the *presence of each others absence*. Our bodies process so much context/content when we're in each others presence that meeting via video can be like a weird form of blindfolding. We sense too little and can't imagine enough. Making up for this deprivation requires a lot of effort.

...The More You Know, The Dine' (Navajo) believe that when a baby is born, he or she is between two worlds. The Spirit world and The world of the Earth people. ...It is said that when a baby firsts laughs, (A’wee Chi’deedloh) the Holy Ones have let go of their spirit to join the Earth People. This is cause for a celebration, A’wee Chi’deedloh (Babys first laugh). It is the responsibility of the person who made the baby laugh to provide a feast, (cooking & providing all the food). It is also believed that the baby assumes the same characteristics of the one who made them laugh. The Dine' say that the baby's first laugh is done with their entire being, opening up their heart & head & lungs for the first time as part of the Earth people. During the feast the baby plays host and gives rock-salt to every person along w/ their food. It is said that this is the baby's first act of generosity, the salt is said to rejuvenate the guests spirit & blessings bestowed upon them. Happy AM shi' frans :) See more
