Lakewood Equestrian Center

LEC is looking for a hard working stable hand. This position will be 40 hours per week and includes cleaning stalls, feeding horses, and replacing stall bedding. The job also includes other property maintenance such as trash removal, mowing and tree trimming. Sunday through Thursday preferred but days are flexible.

Come to LEC anytime during business hours and you can take home as much fantastic fertilizer as you would like for your garden. Our manure piles are located directly across the parking lot from the pony rides. Bring a bag and a shovel and take as much as you would like and be sure to tag us in photos of your blossoming flower beds in the spring!

LEC is looking for a driver to water and drag our arenas. Full or Part time availability. 7 days a week 6am-3pm 1 hour break for lunch. Experience preferred but not necessary as training will be provided. Must have a valid Drivers License. Send all inquiries and resumes to [email protected]

Unicorn pony rides $10 Painting the pony $10 per child There are openings for trail walks $25, if you are interested please DM us Yes we will be offering painting the pony tomorrow and you do not need tickets ahead of time, all you have to do is come in! It is $10 per child and you will have the chance to paint the pony for 30 minutes We encourage all kiddos that come in the wear their costumes! If they have their costume on and say trick or treat to an employee they will receive candy for themselves and carrots for the ponies!! Please remember some costumes may scare our ponies such as inflated, sharp, loud, large or costumes with large wings. If a child comes in with a costume that can scare out ponies we will ask you to change or we will not let the child ride for theirs and our ponies safety. Recent studies conducted by the Institute of HeartMath provide a clue to explain the bidirectional "healing" that happens when we are near horses. According to ...researchers, the heart has a larger electromagnetic field and higher level of intelligence than the brain: A magnetometer can measure the heart's energy field radiating up to 8 to 10 feet around the human body. While this is certainly significant it is perhaps more impressive that the electromagnetic field projected by the horse's heart is five times larger than the human one (imagine a sphere-shaped field that completely surrounds you). The horse's electromagnetic field is also stronger than ours and can actually directly influence our own heart rhythm! Horses are also likely to have what science has identified as a "coherent" heart rhythm (heart rate pattern) which explains why we may "feel better" when we are around them. . . .studies have found that a coherent heart pattern or HRV is a robust measure of well-being and consistent with emotional states of calm and joy--that is, we exhibit such patterns when we feel positive emotions. A coherent heart pattern is indicative of a system that can recover and adjust to stressful situations very efficiently. Often times, we only need to be in a horses presence to feel a sense of wellness and peace. In fact, research shows that people experience many physiological benefits while interacting with horses, including lowered blood pressure and heart rate, increased levels of beta-endorphins (neurotransmitters that serve as pain surppressors), decreased stress levels, reduced feelings of anger, hostility, tension and anxiety, improved social functioning; and increased feelings of empowerment, trust, patience and self-efficacy." It was so wonderful seeing all of the kids having some fun and getting their hands dirty at Pony Painting Day yesterday! It looked like the ponies were having a blast too!
