Equine Meadows

Yesterday, we lost our beautiful mare. Her name was Moonshine. She had a crescent moon for her star and beautiful pinto coloring. She was the sweetest horse that ever graced our ranch. She was our rescue from Pitkin Louisiana. Her two year old filly is strong and very healthy. Moonshine died from sand colic in our granddaughter’s arms. We were able to give her three years of horse freedom on our ranch. Rest In Peace our beautiful mare.

I thought I'd share an accident I had - and lesson reinforced why you ALWAYS wear BOOTS to the barn. I was bathing my new colt and he knocked me over. I fell ...sideways which scared him and he stepped on my foot. I was wearing my Ariat boots, and the steel shank in them protected my foot from serious injury. If I had had regular shoes on, my foot would have been smashed badly. See more
