Let’s talk new build homes! We have a lot of buyers turning to new builds these days. They’re a great option, especially if you don’t have to move right this minute and want more control over finishes, like flooring. One thing we always remind my buyers of, though, is that when you tour a new build model home, it’s fully decked out, not just with staged furniture but also with all the bells and whistles that will cost you more money - upgraded flooring, back splashes, that s...ort of thing. Decorative walls, light fixtures that aren’t an option from the builder, etc. Your new build home will be awesome! And you can do all that cool stuff to it once you close escrow and truly make it yours. But keep your eye on the prize when touring a model, making sure your focus is on the bones - the layout and flow of the floorplan - because THAT is what you’re really buying.
