The spring time came upon us really quick here in So Cal. Not sure we really even had a winter. So plants are in bloom and everything is green and the bugs and critters are out and about. This past Monday somehow I got bit by a Black Widow. Not really sure where or how it happened I got home from working and my foot hurt. This is the aftermath. ... So remember to keep your eyes open for snakes spiders and anything else that might cause you harm around your house.

We do more than just landscaping. Adding lights to clients pilasters at entry gate Needing some light to brighten things up. My client did. So we ran a new circuit and installed two new energy efficient lamps. We also installed a dusk to dawn sensor so the lights are only on when the sun goes down. 15 plus years as a electrician. Let's brighten that yard up with some new lights and some new landscaping. We do it all.

Do you ever notice a wet spot in your yard that never seems to dry or water always slowly dropping out of a sprinkler head? There can be multiple reasons for this. Most commonly you have a faulty anti siphon. Or the bypass isn't closed all of the way Depending on the anti siphon brand you have. The bypass can be on different spots of the top of the anti siphon. See your owners manual to see how to open and close the bypass ... Some anti siphon have repair kits. Depending on the make. Pics of recent job I did. Anti siphon could not be repaired. So a new anti siphon was installed to fix the leaking anti siphon If you think you might have a faulty anti siphon. Give me a call and I will come and take a look at it. Saving water, saves you money and helps not waste water.

Garden Tip Of The Day Its that time of year again. Time to Prune your Roses You will want to finish pruning your roses by early-February (preferably this week) so that they can rest for a couple weeks before our early spring tells them to start growing! Follow these steps for a healthy spring bloom! The same instructions apply for all Hybrid Tea and Floribunda roses.... Pruning Use bypass pruners that work similar to scissors. Anvil-type pruners will crush your rose stems. 1. Prune the rose bush down to a height of 8-12. Yes this will remove to 2/3 of the plant. 2. Remove any dead canes and small twiggy growth. 3. Remove any canes that are crossing through the middle of the bush or rubbing against other canes. This also opens up the center of the plant. You want your bush to have a vase shape to it. 4. Make your cuts about 1/4 inch above a bud eye that is facing out from the center of the bush. 5. Strip all leaves from the canes Not a lot to it, just take your time and do it right, or give me a call and I will gladly do it for you,

From time to time. Water lines break, sprinklers go bad. When was the last time you went through your system and checked to make sure nothing was leaking and that all your sprinklers are covering the area they were designed to cover. Fixing a broken line at a local business. Looks like it froze and broke. After it was fixed and turned back on. I found another broken line. And three sprinklers that needs to be fixed. Does your palm tree need a good trimming, some good reasons why you should think about it 1. Avoid deferred maintenance keep your palm trees looking good You dead head your roses, right? Palm trees need a little attention as well, to help them keep looking great. Especially if you are considering putting your house up for sale. You wouldn't want potential buyers, the home inspector, or the appraiser to be all over your case for what they'll refer to as deferred maintenance.... That would be a label applied to things you should have taken care of, but didn't. Deferred maintenance items come with a price tag. Either you can pay to have it done before they buyers come over to check out your house. Or you can wait until they deduct an unreasonable amount off of your asking price for them to have enough money to trim the palm trees. Which would you choose? 2. Eliminate rat nesting habitats Neighborhood rats will be clamoring to climb up into your dead palm fronds and make themselves at home. A perfect place to grow a happy rat family. Rats can have lots of baby rats. Rats can carry rabies. Rats can make a huge mess. Don't send out a printed invitation! Trim your palm trees and keep the rats away. 3. Avoid potential fire hazard Dead palm fronds dry out very quickly. The longer you let them stack up, the more potential fire hazard you may be creating. Shaggy Orange County palm trees look like a big stack of kindling waiting for a spark or a strike of lightening to set the whole tree ablaze. Not the kind of fireworks I'd like in my backyard. 4. Don't leave anything for the Santa Ana winds to toss around The taller your palm tree grows, the bigger the palm fronds get. The bigger they get, the heavier they get. You get where this is going, right? All those heavy, dried out palm fronds will just get whipped around when the Santa Ana winds whip up. And the wind could whip one through your window. Or your neighbor's window. Best to cut them off and let the wind whistle on by. Give me a call. Free estimates 760-784-5099

Tip of the Day Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful; they are sunshine, food and medicine for the soul. -Luther Burbank... Plants have the same water makeup as humans so how often do you get a drink? I'd guess that you get a drink at least once a day so why don't your plants? -Jacob R. Mittlieder A garden requires patient labor and attention. Plants do not grow merely to satisfy ambitions or to fulfill good intentions. They thrive because someone expended effort on them. -Liberty Hyde Bailey Remember that children, marriages, and flower gardens reflect the kind of care they get. -H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

Do you need some extra power outside. One of my clients did. Ran the power through the wall. Powered up two receptacles. One for his flag pole in the yard. The other was put up by the roof for Christmas lights. We also ran a extra circuit for a gate opener to be installed later. ... You thinking about adding some power.
