When a company says they are green in an industry that is not very green, what does that mean? At Encore Air Inc. we have put our money where our mouth is. We understand that moving heavy equipment around costs quite a bit and we as a company have inventory that saves time, deliveries, and most important fits what you are trying to do on set. How do we save time? Our 12 ton units are on a cart that can be moved around easily on flat ground. We do not need to park these units ...on a street. They can be closer to your set as they only take up a 4X8 area. They can also be maneuvered down most city sidewalks. How do we save on deliveries? Encore Air Inc. can deliver up to 3 - 12 ton AC units and a generator on one truck. This saves by not putting extra exhaust into the air. We are also taking one more vehicle off of the road. This also reserves additional space on your site, instead of there being 2-3 trucks on site, there will only be one. How can we make it fit what you are doing on set? Encore Air Inc. has units that take up very little space. Our units can sit right up against a building and blow cold air directly onto your set. This will save duct runs which lessens the amount of air that enters the area. Encore Air Inc also prides itself on being a Conscious Capitalism Company. That's a lot of buzz words so allow me explain. Every employee of Encore Air Inc. makes more than minimum wage. We work in a very demanding industry that at times requires long hours and tons of labor. We want to make sure that our employees are taken care of and are not struggling to "make it". This is Awesome for Simi Valley. FILM STUDIO PLANNING MOVIE RANCH FOR SIMI VALLEY It was announced today that an agreement has been reached between Waste Management Corporation and Allied Pacific Studios (Allied) which will enable Allied to bring significant film production to Simi Valley and the East County area. The approximately 1 ,000 acres of land currently owned by Waste Management on the east side of their landfill operation will facilitate Allied's ability to increase... its temporary filming operations while it moves a more permanent plan for a movie ranch through the governmental approval process. Currently, the company operates a movie studio on Smith Road in the east end of SimiValley. The new project area has been in discussion between the parties for overfive years and the City of Simi Valley has been strongly encouraging both sides to consummate the lease/purchase agreement, recognizing the importance to the local and regional economy if achieved. Allied envisions an environmentally-friendly project to be planned and developed over the ' next few years, bringing hundreds of well-paying jobs to Simi Valley and Ventura County while preserving the majority of the area as open space. "We're glad that we were able to reach an agreement with Waste Management and greatly appreciate the cooperation of Waste Management's local leadership, Mike Smith and Larry Metter, and the City of Simi Valley, in bringing this project forward", said Brian Gordon, Managing Director of Allied. "l know that as we move forward we should see a substantial boost to the local and regional economy." Mayor Bob Huber praised the plan and the agreement for the benefits it will bring to Simi Valley and eastern Ventura County. "We've been working with both sides for a long time to bring our community the right project at the right time. The entire City Council recognizes the benefits that film production brings to our economy and we look forward to reviewing the plans for the movie ranch as those plans progress through the planning process.
