The City of Encinitas is inviting residents to support the city’s local business community by participating in the first-ever Eggcinitas Eggstravaganza taking... place Friday, April 2nd through Sunday, April 4th. This is a substitution for the city’s annual Egg Hunt, which was cancelled this year due to COVID-19. The Eggcinitas Eggstravaganza is presented by the city’s Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts Department in partnership with the Encinitas Chamber of Commerce and the city’s 101 Main Street Business Associations located in Cardiff, Leucadia and Encinitas. Details - the City is providing nearly 20,000 eco-friendly eggs, stuffed with candy treats. Participating Encinitas business owners will be given at least 48 recyclable bags, each filled with five (5) eco-friendly eggs to give away throughout the weekend. Ten (10) random bags will contain a golden egg filled with a special prize. The egg giveaway begins tomorrow, Friday, April 2 and ends on Sunday, April 4. Eggs will be given away only during normal business hours which may vary. The candy-filled eggs and golden eggs will be distributed by participating businesses while supplies last. No purchase is required to participate. To view the online flyer with participating businesses (handy to have on your phone) visit, www.EncinitasCA.gov/Eggstravaganza

Before climbing ladders to string outdoor lights, check for overhead power lines on your roof. Always ke...ep at least 10 feet away from overhead lines. Never place yourself or any object, such as a string of lights, in a position that risks contact with a power linethe result can be fatal. #sdge #energysavings4u 3. Set timers for holiday lights to turn on and off automatically. Keep light displays on during the evening and turn them off overnight while your business is closed. #sdge #energysavings4u 4. Before stringing lights on outdoor trees, make sure tree limbs haven’t grown into or near power lines. Tis' small business season! Here are 6 ways you can help support our local businesses: When you shop or eat local, check-in at the business' Facebook page to give them exposure. Post photos of your favorite items you’ve purchased on your Instagram stories... Leave a review on Facebook, Google or Yelp. Like and follow local businesses. Share and comment on their posts. Participate in local Facebook groups and on Nextdoor by recommending your favorites businesses. Plan a virtual holiday party and take the amount that you would have spent on your meal and beverage and donate it to your favorite establishment. Repost from San Marcos Chamber of Commerce
