Encinitas Toastmasters

Congrats to Patricia, who won the Best Speaker competition for her second ice-breaker speech, "What Happened to That Girl?" This photo was taken a couple of years ago at an in-person meeting.

First time is a charm! Congrats to Kamran who debuted as our Toastmaster on April 8, and to Brittany who served as first-time Zoom Master. Excellent work all around!

RIP, Woody Wilson, DTM, former ETM club president, who was a giant among Toastmasters. Woody was a retired Ph.D scientist, author, gourmet cook, seasoned public speaker, and Past District Governor of Toastmasters District 5. Woody did much to grow our club and make it more professional. In addition, he was a dedicated mentor to so many Toastmasters over the years. He passed away on March 29 of cancer. Congrats to our President Terrie for placing third in the Northern Division speech contest today. Terrie had some really tough competition. These contests are always subjective and serving as a judge can be a real challenge. Terrie, we are so proud of you!

Toast of the Town winner! Congrats to Kim who won this club-created award for performing two roles at our April 1st meeting. Kim gave the Tricks of the Trade presentation as well as the closing inspiration.
