To say Tom LaBonge was a great city councilman is a huge understatement. Tom LOVED Los Angeles, loved and promoted iconic LA people and places including the El Portal. Tom was our biggest supporter and saw our production of Smokey Joe's Cafe so many times we named our upper side seating section after him - he would sneak in to watch 20 minutes if he was visiting businesses and Angelinos in the neighborhood. He often called us to see if there was any way he could help us during both the good times and the tough times - he was the epitome of a loyal friend. And, if you knew him, you also knew he was Elvis's #1 fan! We love you Tom. Thank you for your service and your passion for the city you loved and LOVES YOU BACK!
Sending love and respect to the family and loved ones of actor and photographer Ed Krieger. Ed worked closely with our PR and Marketing Director, Pegge Forrest, on countless productions at El Portal, Hermosa Beach Playhouse, Civic Light Opera of South Bay Cities, and others. She knew that Ed would understand the proper shots that would bring out the fun and excitement of the stage productions. He was a kind man, generous with Christmas cookies and eager to share stories of the LA theatre scene. We will miss Ed and his many, many contributions to El Portal. https://www.latimes.com//ed-krieger-photographer-los-angel

Composer David Arkenstone's great new music with video taken on the El Portal Theatre stage! Enjoy!
Carol was my dear friend. Her spirit was rare and she supported theatre with gusto! Dom and Carol helped light the El Portal Marquee in 1999 as we prepared for the reopening. Traffic stopped as Dom did some of his best stuff and Carol was always there encouraging and supporting ! Fabulous mother, wife, actress and friend.
A heartfelt hug goes out to the DeLuise family over the passing of their mother, Carol Arthur. In addition to being an outstanding dancer and comedienne, Carol was a big supporter of El Portal. She and Dom came to many shows together, and the boys often accompanied her. We will miss her smile and wit, but know that heaven is a happier place with her in it! https://www.theatermania.com//obituary-carol-arthur_91599.
