Ash Wednesday Service, February 17th at 6 PM in the Sanctuary

Kids JAM is back! Kids kinder to 5th grade are welcome to join us at 6 PM for our mid-week kids group! Join us Wednesday at 6PM, for we will meet in the Sanctuary. Masks and social distancing will be practiced. No JAM on 2/17, we will be hosting an Ash Wednesday service instead.

February 2021 - Prayer Group Focus Psalm 100:4 says, Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him and bless his name. Take a moment to praise God for who He is and thank Him for all He’s done. Please pray for God’s protection and provision for our church and community during this covid-complicated time of life. ... James 1:15 says, If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. Continue to pray that God would grant wisdom to those in leadership. Acts 2:47 says, The Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. Pray that even the midst of so many things feeling very different that we would make the most of the opportunities God presents to lead people to Christ. Hebrews 12:14 says, Pursue peace with everyone, and holiness, for without it no one will see the Lord. There continues to be much tension in our nation; please pray that God would soften hearts and bring peace. Jesus said, You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. Pray for God’s Spirit to be present and active in our lives and in our church. Pray for God’s anointing on our worship services Philippians 2:2 says, Make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. Pray for a spirit of unity in this ministry. Galatians 6:2 says, Carry each other's burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ. Pray for those who are going through adversity or may be feeling burdened. In 1 Chronicles 29 at the dedication of the temple, David prayed, Who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand. Thank God for His provision and pray that we would honor God with whatever He entrusts to us. Lessons from the Book of James, Overcoming Self-Sabotage. Join us Sunday morning to worship and understand temptation. Jesus said, "Watch and pray that you enter not into temptation." Service on the lawn begins at 10:45am and the sermons are always posted on our website if you prefer to worship at home.

Prayer Pocket Focus for January 2021 Pray with a small group (2-4) Culture is described as the set of shared attitudes, values, goals, and practices that characterize an organization or a way of life of a group of people- the behaviors, beliefs, and values that they accept, at times without thinking about them, and that are passed along by communication and imitation from one generation to the next. ... With the beginning of a new year, I thought it would be a great time to review and pray for the culture we desire in our lives and ministry at El Morro Church. Pray that we would have a culture where Christ is always central. Pray that we would have a culture where people are hungry for the presence of God. Pray that we would have a culture where prayer is a priority. Pray that we would have a culture where grace is alive and well. Pray that we would have a culture where lost people matter. Pray that we would have a culture that is culturally- connected. Pray for educators, students, and parents impacted by these challenges. Pray that we would have a culture that moves people beyond salvation to Lordship. Pray that we would have a culture where people love and live the Word of God. Pray that we would have a culture that is increasingly comfortable being uncomfortable.
