It’s National Pasta Day!!! - Try out this Guilt-Free Butternut Squash Pasta! - TIPS:... Now there’s a little bit of technique involved with cutting your butternut squash in the best way to run it through a spiral slicer. The narrow part of the squash, that’s completely solid, is the piece that works really well with a spiral slicer. - Slice off the skin and then simply run it through the slicer. The part of the squash that’s hollow in the middle is trickier to use with the spiral slicer since those pieces are pretty thin. A quick option is to simply chop those pieces thinly and use that along with the long noodle strands. - Instructions: 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F . Cut the narrow part of both squash off and peel off the skin. You should have 2 nice solid pieces of squash (no hollow section). Run this through a spiral slicer to create long, thin noodles. 2. Toss the noodles with 1 teaspoon of olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Spread over a rimmed baking sheet and bake for 5 to 8 minutes , until tender. 3. Serve immediately with the spaghetti sauce of your choosing. INCORRECT breathing: Inhaling and exhaling as you lift is vital. E.g., Exhale as you raise the weights to curl, then inhale as you are lowering. For a push up, inhale as you lower to the floor, and exhale as you press yourself up. 3. Too LIGHT, of weight for too long: Try adding more weight if you feel it is getting too easy. 4. Too HEAVY, too soon: Don't rush yourself to lift too heavy your first time! Your body takes time to develop to the intensity of lifting heavier. 5. Rushing the rep just to lift and sacrificing FORM: Take time to practice form prior to adding any weights. The amount of reps you do means nothing if it is sacrificing technique. 6. Happy #NationalPumpkinDay . - Here’s a special recipe for a special healthy pumpkin muffin today. - Swipe for the ingredients and save this post for later!... - INSTRUCTIONS 1. preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit (165 degrees Celsius). 2. In a large bowl beat the oil and maple syrup or honey together with a whisk. Add the eggs, and beat well. Add the pumpkin purée, milk, pumpkin spice blend, baking soda, vanilla extract, and salt. 3. Add the flour and oats to the bowl and mix with a large spoon, just until combined (a few lumps are ok). If you’d like to add any additional mix-ins***, like nuts, chocolate, or dried fruit, fold them in now. 4. Divide the batter evenly between the muffin cups. Sprinkle the tops of the muffins with about a tablespoon of oats, followed by a light sprinkle of raw sugar and/or pumpkin spice blend if you’d like. Bake muffins for 22 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into a muffin comes out clean. 5. Place the muffin tin on a cooling rack to cool. These muffins are delicate until they cool down. You might need to run a butter knife along the outer edge of the muffins to loosen them from the pan. 6. These muffins taste even better after they have rested for a couple of hours! They’ll keep at room temperature for up to 2 days, or in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
