I just couldn’t pin him! This one is going to be a custom archery orthosis. More pics to come. This will be a cool project.
Dave was involved in a nasty ATV roll over. His left arm was degloved as well as shattered. He was kind enough to share his X-rays for perspective. He came to us with a strong desire to bow hunt again, but the left arm has re-broken several times since the accident, so loading the arm was not an option. Dave had an idea for a shoulder mound harness to hook the bow string to, but this was not feasible with a 50lb+ draw. I cast him in shooting position, and worked out the angles in the test orthosis before we laminated the carbon brace. Here are some pics from the journey. Thanks again Dave, for letting us share your story. It was a pleasure to help you.

The last KAFO we made this gal lasted 12+ years. Will see how long this sexy beast goes.
Check out the trick red white and blue carbon
Our good deed for the day. Ridge was being trained as a service dog at a prison. He unfortunately hurt himself jumping off the inmates bunk. His new braces will keep him from hyperextending his carpal joints. Such a handsome boy.
Catching up on a quiet Sunday morning. Ahhh, not one phone call, nobody asking questions. Work bliss!
Great crew! It’s nice to have time to talk, hang out, be friends, not just coworkers.
I can’t say enough about how much we appreciate the incredible people who make it possible to Allow us to do what we do. And the amazing guys that help us build the stuff we do. We apologize if it gets a little loud upstairs, but Santa’s work shop cranks gifts out all year in Chico CA!
And we are off!!! Annual company trip to the coast to work on team building. And fishing. Mostly fishing. Elite Design loves its employees!
Thanks for such a great response to the job post! We are wrapping up interviews next week.
