This has been quite a journey -- not just for me but for all of our supporters who believe in our vision of what Oakland can and should be. We started this campaign with nothing but our unwavering faith in our communities and the belief that we all deserve a future where no one is unheard and unwritten. At the beginning of my campaign, I pledged to run a clean one. My team and I wanted a campaign of ideas and policy, not negative attacks or mudslinging.
