Rosario Rodriguez for Folsom City Council 2020 07.05.2021

On Monday evening, I will be sworn in as a City of Folsom Council Member. In the Summer of 2019, there was something notable that was important to me and it was the lack of ethnic diversity for a city with 30% minorities. In this election, Folsom voted in the first Asian and first Latina to the council. This is outstanding! My on-boarding new council member orientation this past Wednesday was very informative and thorough! What a privilege and honor to pick up my first Ag...enda Packet for next Monday’s and Tuesday’s City Council Meeting. I can’t recall a time when I was more excited to sit down and study a large binder! The hard work begins here! . . . . #CityOfFolsom

I am grateful for many blessings in 2020. A highlight of my year was growing the friendships with these 7 amazing people who helped on my campaign so that I can serve the City of Folsom as a Council Member. I sure do miss our weekly meetings and conversations! I have great memories of our time together! I am ecstatic to be sworn in within a few weeks Happy Thanksgiving, All!

The Sacramento County Elections office just released an update. It looks like YK4Folsom (aka YK Chalamcherla) and I will be elected to Folsom City Council to fill the two open seats. There are still several weeks until this election is confirmed. Next report is this Friday.

Today’s report from Sac County just posted, and it appears that YK (23%) and I (22%) still have strong leads in the top 2 positions. There are still many votes uncounted (mine included), but I feel confident that the trending will continue this way. Next county report is Tuesday at 4pm.

I will be picking up lawn signs this weekend. If you’ll be near the prison, I’m in Cimmaron Hill and you can drop it off at 108 Fausset Court. You can just leave it by the mailbox to make it easier. Or, I can pick up the lawn sign by texting me your address to 415-377-4038. ... Thank you for your support of my campaign!

SacBee’s write up of the Folsom City Council election. While the results look promising that I’ve been elected to one of the two open seats, I prefer to wait until Friday’s 4pm results to celebrate. My vote still hasn’t been counted, so I know I have 1 more vote to add to my tally. https://www.sacbee.com//pol/election/article246965587.html

Paul and I submitted our ballots yesterday. What an amazing experience it’s been running for Folsom City Council! After 9 months of campaigning, what happened behind the scene was an extraordinary experience! Zoom and Microsoft Excel were equivalent to oxygen (). There were hundreds of hours spent studying and meeting with people to learn about the City of Folsom and it’s governance. I enjoyed meeting Folsom voters standing in front of Walmart and HD Farmer’s Market. Monday... 7pm Zoom meetings were great, and I’ll keep those going if elected. The Neighborhood Meet & Greets were fantastic! We walked parts of almost every neighborhood leaving rack cards on doors, and made thousands of calls to voters. More than 350 lawn signs were distributed, and countless large signs went up. All of this was made possible with a group of 7 friends who became part of a committee and we met EVERY Wednesday morning at 8am. The strategizing and pressure was undoubtedly....worth it ALL! If you haven’t voted, you have until 8pm tonight. I love Folsom! . . . . #ProudAmerican #Rosario2020 #RosarioForFolsom #RosarioRodriguezForFolsomCityCouncil2020 #FolsomCityCouncil2020 #ElectRosarioRodriguez #Folsom #FolsomStrongerTogether

This week, I had the privilege to speak to a High School Senior’s Girls Scout troop. I got to share a bit about myself and even some personal experiences about life. One of the first questions was if I had involvement in Student Government in high school. I was Freshmen class President and Sophomore VP. This picture goes way back, but brings good memories of being a part of a decision-making body in my youth at the age of 14. These are the experiences that help develop lea...dership and life skills, which I encourage young people to take advantage of! Good memories! . . . . #Rosario2020 #RosarioForFolsom #RosarioRodriguezForFolsomCityCouncil2020 #FolsomCityCouncil2020 #ElectRosarioRodriguez #Folsom #FolsomStrongerTogether

Gracias, Primera Hora con Univision por la opportunidad de compartir mi experiencia como comerciante durante las restricciones de COVID-19. It was great to share with the Spanish-speaking community my thoughts on what it’s been like running a restaurant in the State’s color-coded metric when two similar cities have different restrictions....and the only difference is County. As we continue to improve and become safer, one of the learned lessons to keep our economy going and keep people employed, is to manage the State of California by Zip Code.

Thank you, SacBee for the opportunity to share a small business’ perspective on COVID-19 and working through the State of California’s color-coded tier metric by County. We need to get the safer parts of California opened and get our economy going. By Zip Code is the way to go! On a separate note, EDD has a hold on new claims, yet the low COVID-19 parts of the state want to put people back to work. https://www.facebook.com/21595906224/posts/10158077864511225/?extid=0&d=n

Big shout out to residents on Stonington in the North Lexington neighborhood! Great turnout for a Meet & Greet tonight! I observed that this group cares about their neighbors and the future of the City of Folsom. They had a strong sense of community very similar to my neighborhood. The concerns they shared are real and they want action-oriented leadership. One thing that this group asked of me, if elected, was to be transparent. If you know me well...that’s exactly what I ...am. Transparency builds trust! . . . . #Rosario2020 #RosarioForFolsom #RosarioRodriguezForFolsomCityCouncil2020 #FolsomCityCouncil2020 #ElectRosarioRodriguez #Folsom #FolsomStrongerTogether See more
