5 years ago was the grand opening of the improved trail from Ray Lawyer Dr to Main St. It cost $363,257 to build .75 miles of paved trail on the rail bed. Recently the improved section of trail was opened from Missouri Flat Rd to El Dorado. It cost $4,165,000 to build 2.2 miles of paved trail off the rail bed. It cost nearly 4 times as much/mile to build off the rail bed on one of the flattest, easiest sections.
