The El Camino Community Watch Association met with Regional Planners for LA County. As part of the County Master Plan, planning and zoning needs to be reviewed periodically with suggestions made to support additional housing. There is a proposal to re-zone the split zoning along Crenshaw Blvd. between 154th St. and Marine Ave. These lots are currently split as partially residential (Eriel Ave.) and partially commercial (Crenshaw Blvd.) The proposed zone change will be uniform... as Mixed Use allowing for future development along Crenshaw, while retaining the option for housing. More information can be found on the County’s website: https://planning.lacounty.gov/housing/ The Rezoning Program Story Map that we shared today can be found under the "Get Involved" tab. An Environmental Impact Report will be available on the same landing page late spring/early summer. Also, in case anyone is curious, the approved project for the corner of Marine and Crenshaw is for a 7-11 and car wash.

"I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality... I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word." -Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. May we all find the courage to dream as big as Dr. King, and continue his work until that goal is achieved! #MLK #Ihaveadream #peace #unity #equality
