Students’ mental health has always been on our radar. Over the years we have seen an increase in depression and anxiety, as well as substance abuse and addiction. Resilience and the ability to create community are skills that young people have often not yet developed. Coaches can offer additional support to family and friends. This is a heartbreaking read.

A real shame! Physical education is an absolute necessity for the students as whole people, not just study machines. We will post a change.org petition next! UCD friends, family, and alumni, please spread the news. This decision was NOT made after consulting students.

So many concerns this fall...

A lot of UC campuses this year are either flat out not taking SAT/ACT scores or making them purely optional. But this ruling is interesting because now the UCs *legally* can't use standardized scores for now on the basis that tests are not readily accessible to disabled students who need accommodations. UCs are unhappy about this because I think they still wanted the option of using the scores as part of college admissions for future years. The standardized testing drama continues!
